MSF1000 All-in-one Superfinishing Machine

MSF1000 All-in-one Superfinishing Machine

MSF100 is a semi‑automatic, multifunctional raceway superfinishing machine engineered for medium‑to‑large bearing rings. It supports inner ring bore diameters from Ø220 to Ø800 mm and bearing outer diameters up to Ø100 mm, enabling one machine to handle multiple bearing models with fast changeover.
With high‑accuracy workholding, proportional stone pressure control, and automatic stone wear compensation, the MSF100 delivers consistent ultra‑smooth raceway finishes for demanding OEM noise, friction, and durability requirements.

  • One‑station 3‑pass superfinishing cycle for stable quality

  • Proportional valve controls stone pressure for repeatable results

  • Siemens 828D CNC + inverter control for speed & oscillation tuning

  • Automatic stone wear compensation + low‑stone alarm

  • Gentle pneumatic loading/unloading to protect the ring OD

Bearing Applications (What MSF100 Can Finish)

MSF100 is designed for superfinishing bearing raceways on a wide range of ring types, including:

  • Deep groove ball bearing inner and outer rings

  • Four‑point contact ball bearing inner and outer ring grooves

  • Tapered roller bearing raceways

  • Cylindrical roller bearing raceways

This all‑in‑one capability makes the MSF100 suitable for production environments with small batch sizes and multiple models, where process stability and fast setup are critical.

Workholding & Accuracy (Clamping Method)

To achieve stable rotation and high surface consistency, the MSF100 adopts dedicated clamping methods for different rings:

  • Inner ring: centered by the bore and compressed on the end face, ensuring accurate positioning and repeatable rotation.

  • Outer ring: supported centerless on the outer diameter and compressed on the end face, reducing deformation risk and improving rotational accuracy.

This workholding approach minimizes runout influence during superfinishing and helps produce uniform raceway textures and consistent contact conditions.

Superfinishing Process on One Station (3‑Pass Cycle)

Each workpiece completes a complete superfinishing cycle on a single workstation. The machine performs three rounds (passes) of finishing, with three pressurization stages for rough/medium/fine control.
Stone pressure is controlled by a proportional valve, allowing operators to tune the process window for different bearing geometries and material conditions. Automatic compensation for stone wear helps keep process results stable over time while reducing manual intervention.

FAQs of MSF1000 All-in-one Superfinishing Machine

  1. What is a superfinishing machine used for in bearing manufacturing?
A superfinishing machine improves bearing raceway surface texture and reduces friction by controlled stone contact under oscillation, helping meet noise and life requirements.

  2. Is "super finishing machine" the same as "superfinishing machine"?
Yes. "Super finishing", "superfinishing," and "superfinish" are common naming variants used by different buyers and regions.

  3. Can MSF100 finish both inner rings and outer rings?
Yes. It supports dedicated clamping methods for inner and outer rings to ensure stable rotation and repeatable finishing.

  4. Which bearing types can this superfinish machine handle?
Deep groove ball, four‑point contact ball, tapered roller, and cylindrical roller bearing rings.

  5. How does proportional valve stone pressure control improve consistency?
It enables precise, repeatable pressure stages across rough/medium/fine passes, reducing operator dependency and improving batch stability.

  6. Does the machine compensate for stone wear automatically?
Yes. It provides automatic wear compensation and alarms when the stone becomes too short.

  7. What is the difference between microfinishing and superfinishing?
They are often used interchangeably in bearing applications; both refer to ultra‑fine finishing processes that refine surface texture after grinding.

  8. What information is needed for a quotation and cycle time estimate?
Bearing ring drawing (OD/ID/width), raceway angle, material/heat treatment, target surface requirement, and current pre‑finish condition.
